Au contraire, elle perçait l’air avec élégance derrière le bouclier, telle une vipère attendant le moment propice. Le bouclier, recouvert de cuir et peint d’un motif tourbillonnant, était utilisé pour des attaques qui permettaient de contourner rapidement les adversaires. J’avais entendu parler de berserkers sauvages dans le Nord. Au lieu de cela, j’ai été témoin de techniques raffinées et d’une précision sophistiquée ».
Le bouclier GastiR d’Epic Armoury a été fabriqué en collaboration avec Lejre Land of Legends, un centre danois de recherche et de communication en archéologie historique. Par rapport à nos précédents boucliers inspirés des Vikings, le bouclier GastiR est ajusté pour améliorer l’authenticité sur plusieurs points : La taille de la tête du bouclier est légèrement réduite pour mieux s’adapter à une main non blindée. L’avant du bouclier imite une couverture en cuir, d’après des recherches indiquant que cette couverture était appliquée sur les boucliers pour les rendre plus résistants. Le bouclier est disponible en quatre motifs différents, tous choisis à partir d’interprétations de boucliers représentés sur la tapisserie d’Oseberg. Bien qu’il soit impossible de prétendre à une authenticité totale, nous pouvons affirmer en toute confiance qu’il s’agit de notre meilleure tentative. Le bouclier GastiR vous sera très utile lorsque vous vous battrez pour votre clan et votre roi !

Epic Armoury’s GastiR Shield is made in collaboration with Lejre Land of Legends, a Danish centre for historical-archaeological research and communication. Compared to our previous Viking-inspired shields, the GastiR Shield is adjusted to improve authenticity on several factors: The shield boss size is slightly reduced for a better fit with a non-armoured hand. The shield front imitates a leather cover, based on research indicating that this was applied to shields for durability. The shield is available in four different patterns, all chosen from interpretations of shields depicted on the Oseberg Tapestry. While it is impossible to claim complete authenticity, we can confidently say this is our best attempt. The GastiR Shield will serve you well when fighting for clan and king!
